According to Director General Nguyen Van Can, the implementation of IT service hiring plays a very important role in implementing the overall redesign of the customs information technology system, viewing to soon upgrade Vietnam's Customs to a level equivalent to that of the world's leading developed countries.

Recently, on January 26, 2021, the Ministry of Finance signed Decision 97/QD-BTC on approving the policy of "Hiring information technology services to implement digital customs", in order to improve operational capacity and modernize customs, heading to meet the management requirements in the period of information technology application accelerating to keep up with the 4th Industrial Revolution.

To implement the contents related to Decision 97/QD-BTC, Director General Nguyen Van Can says that a Steering Committee will be established for the deployment of information technology services.

The mission of hiring information technology system services aims at synchronizing both software and hardware services to meet the requirements of performing customs operations towards digital customs.

The new information technology system must apply new technological achievements, in accordance with international standards, and meet the requirements of intelligent customs management. It must have the ability to comprehensively manage enterprises, import, export, and transit goods; means of transport on exit, entry, or in transit from beginning to end; as well as stay ready to connect, exchange, and share information with ministries, branches, businesses, and related parties for the purpose of state management of customs.
