For vessels in the commune that do not meet operating conditions as listed by the provincial IUU Steering Committee, the commune People’s Committee has taken strict action. Specifically, it has locked the steering wheel of the fishing vessel owned by Vo Hoang Van; publicly posted notices for two vessels that were transferred to owners in other localities, namely KH-04447-TS owned by Nguyen Thanh Phat and KH-94645-TS owned by Nguyen Truong Truong Van; and recorded one vessel that has been registered for conversion to aquaculture operations.
These activities are part of the implementation of Plan No. 1695 dated October 31, 2025 issued by the commune People’s Committee on reviewing, compiling statistics, and granting registration certification for fishing vessels under 6 meters and aquaculture service vessels, as well as Decision No. 1443 dated November 28, 2025 approving the plan to reorganize aquaculture cages in Cam Ranh Bay. In the coming time, the commune People’s Committee will continue to strengthen inspection, supervision, and strictly handle violations, while promoting awareness-raising among fishermen, contributing to the removal of the European Commission’s “yellow card” warning against Vietnam’s fisheries sector.
