Naval Region 5 Offers Free Medical Care to Policy Beneficiary Families

The Naval Region 5 Command, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, organized free medical examinations and medicine distribution for policy beneficiary families under the 2025 Military-Civilian Medical Cooperation Program on December 11-12 in the Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province. This was a practical activity to express gratitude to policy beneficiaries, while also commemorating the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Viet Nam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2025).

More than 300 war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of fallen soldiers, families with meritorious services to the revolution, and people in difficult circumstances in the area received clinical examinations from doctors and medical staff of Treatment Team 78, the Logistics - Technical Department of Naval Region 5. Services included general ultrasound scans, electrocardiograms, blood tests, urine tests, health consultations, and the provision of medicines in accordance with medical prescriptions.

Cases involving conditions beyond the unit’s professional capacity were guided for referred to higher-level medical facilities to ensure timely healthcare and treatment in line with appropriate medical protocols.

To ensure the effectiveness of the program, the Naval Region 5 Command proactively coordinated with local authorities to compile lists of beneficiaries, arrange transportation for those with mobility difficulties or living far from the examination site, and prepare adequate medical equipment, supplies and medicines, with a total budget of 90 million VND from the 2025 Military-Civilian Medical Cooperation Program.

The free medical examination and medicine distribution activities contribute to strengthening grassroots healthcare, caring for the health of people in border and island areas, while also reinforcing military-civilian solidarity and promoting the effectiveness of the Military-Civilian Medical Cooperation Program in the new context.
