Nghe An province Vietnam-China Friendship Association celebrates 60 years of establishment
(VNF) - Over 60 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association of Nghe An province has became an important organisation in the development of people-to-people 's diplomacy between Vietnam in general, people in Nghe An province in particular and the Chinese people.
On August 13th, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association of Nghe An province held a ceremony to mark its 60th founding anniversary (1957 - 2017).

Present at the ceremony were Prof., Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Party Secretary, President of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association and Zhang Lianyou, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam.
Nguyen Xuan Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Le Xuan Dai, Member of Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An People's Committee and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam-China Friendship Association also attended the ceremony.
After 60 years of establishment, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association of Nghe An province has experienced seven congresses, organising many exchanges programs. In addition, the Association has proactively promoted its activities, practically contributing to the external activities of the Vietnamese Party and State, to enhance their cooperation with China and becoming an important bridge to tighten the friendship between Nghe An and China; as well as in collaboration with the provincial Fatherland Front raised a fund worth VND 160 million (USD 7,040) in support of Chinese households severely affected by natural disasters in Sizhuan and Gansu provinces.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof., Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association and Zhang Lianyou, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam congratulated the Association on its 60th founding anniversary.
Appreciating the important achievements of the Association, Prof., Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Association will continue to boost measures to develop the Vietnam – China relations, including the strengthening of friendship exchanges, proactively participating in the communication activities on the two countries’ ties, improving the quality of its organisations, and expanding exchange activities in association with enhancing the relations in the fields of economy, trade, culture and education, while actively participating in the propaganda to constantly enhance mutual trust, understanding and friendship between Nghe An and the Chinese people.

On this occasion, Nguyen Xuan Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council handed over a hanging of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to the Association.
In addition, the Provincial People's Committee and the Central Vietnam-China Friendship Association also awarded certificates of merit to the Assiciation and inpiduals in recognition of their dedicated services to promoting provincial people-to-people external affairs activities in the province./.
