Over 1,800 People Participate in Francophone Run in Hanoi
Francophone running tournament entitled "Ensemble" (Together) took place on March 24 at Thong Nhat (Reunification) Park in Hanoi, with the event attracting the participation of over 1,800 runners, VOV reported.
Participants included students, lecturers, businesses, representatives of diplomatic agencies, Francophone organizations, and foreigners based in Hanoi.
This year, the UN SDG 3 "For a healthy and happy life for communities of all ages" was chosen as the main theme of the event.
The race consisted of three main distances such as 2.5 km, five km, and 10 km.

A total of 37 prizes were awarded to both male and female winners in each distance. In addition, the organizers delivered prizes to the oldest and youngest athletes.
A wide range of activities were held as part of the occasion, including nearly 40 booths set up by organizations and businesses in the French-speaking community in Hanoi. Moreover, students across the capital bought 28 art performances to the event.

The function was first held back in 2022 and jointly organized by the Embassy of France in Vietnam, the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), and the Francophone University Agency (AUF).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet emphasized that this is a meaningful event commemorating the 54th anniversary of International Francophonie Day. Beyond sport, athlete engagement celebrates the values of charity, commitment and joy. That is also the value of the Francophone movement, an important aspect of International Francophonie Day.
