Plan International Vietnam: Enable Young girls to be Active Aagents of Change

Joe Ruelle, Marko Nikolic, and Jesse Peterson come from distant countries of the world, yet they have chosen to forge deep ties with Vietnam by writing literature in Vietnamese. For them, Vietnamese is not merely a tool for communication but also a medium for creativity - a way to tell stories, to understand, and to live within Vietnamese culture. Beyond recounting everyday life, they transform the language into a heartbeat that resonates with the culture, the people, and their own emotions.

The press and media are playing a pivotal role in strengthening the presence of the Vietnamese language and expanding its reach within overseas Vietnamese communities. Through news articles, reports, teaching programs, and digital platforms, information on preserving, learning, and using Vietnamese is continuously disseminated, thereby fostering social consensus and connecting generations of overseas Vietnamese with their roots.

The workshop “Enhancing Cooperation Effectiveness Between Viet Nam and Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations and the Participation of Businesses for Sustainable Development in Viet Nam” took place within the framework of the 5th International Conference on December 4. Participants proposed that the government reduce pre-check mechanisms and increase post-check mechanisms, establish a “co-design - co-implementation - co-evaluation” framework with local authorities, and promote a win-win cooperation model between foreign non-governmental organizations and businesses to optimize resources for Viet Nam’s sustainable development goals.
