On August 23 in Hanoi, the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association of Hanoi organized the Vietnam-Cuba Open Pickleball Friendship Tournament 2025, along with a donation in support of the Cuban people. This substantial activity was held in celebration of the "Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year," commemorating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution and Independence Day (September 2), and looking ahead to the 65th anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relation establishment (December 2, 1960 – December 2, 2025).

In the memory of Viktor Alekseevich Petrov, former member of the Asia–Africa Solidarity Committee and the Soviet Committee to Support Vietnam under the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1973 to 1991, the solidarity movement with the Vietnamese people in the Soviet Union and around the world was “unprecedented.” From the days of intense anti-war protests to the present, now in his eighties, he still holds steadfast, loyal feelings toward Vietnam.

In Brasília, the Embassy of Vietnam in Brazil recently held a press conference to provide Brazilian media and friends with updates on Vietnam’s achievements in politics, foreign affairs, economy, and society after 80 years of defending, building, and developing the nation, while also reviewing bilateral relations between the two countries.
