SCI Provides Emergency Support to Households with Children in Thanh Hoa Affected by Storm Kajiki

Thanh Hoa People's Committee has issued Decision No. 3124/QD-UBND dated September 23, 2025 approving an emergency international aid of VND 2.1 billion sponsored by Save the Children International (SCI) - Representative Office in Vietnam to provide relief to 350 - 400 households with children in Yen Nhan, Xuan Chinh, and Kim Tan communes who might be affected by storm No. 5 (Kajiki).

This emergency international aid package, valued at VND 2.1 billion, will be implemented through October 30, 2025. The project is designed to support children and families affected by Typhoon No. 5 (Kajiki) and the resulting floods, helping them strengthen their resilience in the aftermath of natural disasters through targeted emergency cash relief.

The total number of households expected to receive support is from 350 to 400 households depending on the support level, specifically as follows: For households with 02 - 03 members, they will receive 3,000,000 VND, including: VND 2,000,000 to support the family with normal expenses (buying food, groceries, other living expenses) and VND 1,000,000 for the household to buy school supplies for children according to their needs.

Households with 04 - 07 members will receive VND 5,000,000, including: VND 3,500,000 to support the family with normal expenses (buying food, groceries, other living expenses) and VND 1,500,000 for the household to buy school supplies for children according to their needs.

Households with 8 or more members will receive VND 7,000,000, including VND 5,000,000 to support the family with normal expenses (buying food, groceries, other living expenses) and VND 2,000,000 for the family to buy school supplies for children according to their needs.

It is known that SCI has been present in Vietnam since 1990, operating through programs on education, health, nutrition, child protection, poverty reduction, and climate change response. To date, SCI's programs and projects have spread to many provinces and cities across the country. Every year, the Organization supports about 8-9 million people, of which more than 90% are children.
