Publisher Elsevier has just announced the list of the world's most influential scientists in 2025. Nine Vietnamese scientists are working at universities in the top 10,000 most influential scientists in the world:

Many Vietnamese scientists once again made it to this year’s ranking, including Professor-Doctor of Science Nguyen Dinh Duc, Professor Tran Xuan Bach of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Professor Nguyen Xuan Hung of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, among others.
The scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields. According to this year’s ranking, Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc is placed 51st in the field of Engineering, while Professor Tran Xuan Bach is ranked 113th in Public Health, among others.
These results once again reaffirm the tireless efforts and growing international standing of Vietnamese scientists on the global scientific map.
Professor Vo Xuan Vinh, Director of the Institute of Business Research at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, who has been featured in the ranking for three consecutive years, shared: “Being recognized by the international scientific community is a great source of encouragement, as well as a motivation for Vietnamese scientists to persist in their research and further integrate into the global academic community.”
The list, published by Elsevier and based on data updated through the end of 2024, is widely regarded by the global scientific community as a standardized, objective, and highly credible dataset.
