Europe is the second biggest net receiver of Vietnamese students with more than 15.000 studying in the continent.
The Summer Camp for Vietnamese youth in Europe aims to bring together young Vietnamese living and staying in European countries, offering them a meetup venue to socialize and exchange experiences in various aspects, including life, work and study.
After three seasons held in Germany, France and Czech in 2015, 2016, 2017 respectively, the Summer Camp has affirmed its essential role in connecting overseas youth, boosting their confidence in international integration process while still maintaining a strong bond with their roots.
This year, the Summer Camp for Vietnamese Youth is held by the Association of Vietnamese students in Hungary, with the supports from the HCM Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students’ Association and the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary.
Since it will be held by the bank of the Danube river, the Summer Camp 2018 is named “Duna Camp”.

The Summer Camp for Vietnamese Youth in Europe 2017 (held in Prague, Czech) was a successful event which has left positive impression on young people's heart.
In addition to arts performance and games, the Summer Camp 2017 helped nurture the love for motherland via numerous conferences and seminars on the topic “Vietnamese youth looks toward the future of the community and homecountry”. The topic gave the participants the chance to take part in insightful presentation and discussion on the homeland’s sovereignty over seas and islands, preserving Vietnamese culture, and career orientation.

Talking about the imprint of the Summer Camp 2017, Vice President of the Vietnamese Students Association in Hungary, Vo Trung Au said: “What I remember about the Summer Camp 2017 was the youthfulness, enthusiasm of the young participants and the thorough organization by the organizing board. In addition, all of the volunteers were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Members in each team were mixed (from different countries), which make the experience very exciting since we had to make cross-border connection.”
At the moment, the preparation for the Duna Camp is being carried out by the Vietnamese Students Association in Hungary, including managing registration and recruiting volunteers to assist the summer camp’s participants. The summer camp is expected to reinforce the bonds among the youth in Europe and increase their love for Vietnam and attention, awareness of homeland's sovereignty over the seas and islands.
In mid March, the surveying process to plan for entertainment activities in Budapest city, was completed.
At the same time, the organizing board has been holding meetings to make a detailed agenda for the program, making sure it will serve as a beneficial playground for the youth in Europe.
This marks the premier time the Vietnamese students Association in Hungary organizes such a significant event for the young Vietnamese in the European continent.
The Vietnamese Students Association in Hungary was established in 2014, consisting of 3 branches in Budapest, Debrecen and Godollo.
The Association has been proactively organizing various bonding activities for Vietnamese youth in the country, including events to honor the beauty of Vietnamese seas and islands, Vietnamese talents in art, sports, etc.
