Accordingly, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command organized visits and presented Tet greetings and gifts to 42 disadvantaged families in the Phu Quoc Special Zone, each valued at VND 1,000,000.

Though modest in material worth, the gifts embodied the deep affection, sense of responsibility, and spirit of solidarity of the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard, particularly those of Region 4. These meaningful gestures helped encourage local residents to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year in a warm and uplifting atmosphere.

Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, said: “For the officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, visiting, encouraging, and presenting Tet gifts to the people of the Phu Quoc Special Zone is both a joy and a responsibility. Guided by the spirit of “leaving no one behind” and “ensuring everyone can celebrate Tet,” the unit consistently works in close coordination with local authorities to effectively implement social welfare activities and care for residents during the Lunar New Year, particularly policy beneficiary families and those facing difficult circumstances in the area.”

Alongside visiting and presenting Tet gifts, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command took part in the “Zero-Cost Tet Market” program organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Phu Quoc Special Zone. The program carries profound humanitarian significance, promoting the nation’s long-standing tradition of solidarity and mutual support, while helping care for disadvantaged families during the Tet.

At the event, officers and members of the Women’s Association of the Staff Department under the Coast Guard Region 4 Command worked closely together to prepare a wide range of essential goods to meet residents’ needs during Tet, including rice, instant noodles, fish sauce, cooking oil, spices, confectionery, soft drinks, and tea. These practical and thoughtfully selected items helped ease daily burdens and enabled families to celebrate the traditional holiday in a warmer and more joyful atmosphere.

Notably, the unit also presented 20 zero-cost shopping vouchers, each worth VND 500,000, to disadvantaged households, policy beneficiary families, unemployed workers, elderly people living alone, persons with disabilities, and women and children facing particularly difficult circumstances in the Phu Quoc Special Zone. Though simple in form, these gifts, imbued with sincere care, reflect the deep sense of responsibility and compassion of the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard toward the people.

Deeply moved by the unit’s care and support, Vo Thi Kiet of Suoi Lon neighborhood, Duong To Commune, Phu Quoc Special Zone, shared: “Every Tet holiday, we receive timely attention and assistance from Coast Guard officers. These gifts make our Tet warmer and give my family greater motivation to work hard, remain committed to the sea and the island, and contribute to building Phu Quoc into an increasingly prosperous and beautiful homeland.”

Through this series of meaningful activities, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command continues to affirm its role and responsibility in mass mobilization and social welfare efforts, helping to strengthen the close-knit bond between the military and the people and to build a firm “people’s support” posture on Phu Quoc Island and across its assigned waters. These practical initiatives also serve to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2026, inspiring officers and soldiers to remain steadfast in their duties, successfully fulfill assigned missions, and firmly safeguard the sovereignty, security, and safety of the Fatherland’s southwestern seas.

Alongside the effective implementation of social welfare activities in the area, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command has been doing a good job preparing for Tet for its troops. The unit organized a general cleaning, decorated the landscape with banners and posters, creating a vibrant atmosphere of emulation throughout the Command, ensuring that officers and soldiers can celebrate the traditional Tet holiday warmly, joyfully, safely, and with high combat readiness.
