Third Vietnamese Day at Baku Draw Numerous Participants

The Vietnamese delegation on July 26 visited the Memorial Room featuring the bond between late President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnam-Azerbaijan oil and gas industry, at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.

After that, the opening ceremony of the "Vietnam Days" - a concert and culinary program - was held at Maiden Tower Square in the center of Baku. During the day, participants were treated to traditional Vietnamese tea and coffee tasting, works of Vietnamese artists, and gifts.

In the evening, the official opening ceremony of the "Vietnam Days" was held in the square in front of Maiden Tower, jointly organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan, the Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icheri Sheher", and the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov, Head of the Working Group on Azerbaijan-Vietnam Interparliamentary Relations, MP Hijran Huseynova, other members of the group, MPs, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Isa Habibbeyli, and Head of the Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icheri Sheher" Rufat Mahmud, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Shovgi Kamal Oglu Mehdizade, as well as residents of the city and foreign guests.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icheri Sheher", Rufat Mahmud, stated that this event, which was implemented with the initiative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam and the support of the department he leads, brought together two ancient Eastern cultures.

He emphasized that the "Vietnam Days" held for the third time played an important role in the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The head of the Vietnamese delegation, Rector of the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism Trinh Thi Thu Ha, and Director of the Vietnamese Institute of Policy Management and Development Strategy (IPADS) Le Nguyen Thien Nga, stated in their speeches that this event, held in the year of the announcement of the Strategic Partnership, aims to further strengthen the bridge of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Azerbaijan.

After the opening ceremony, the presentation of Ao dai (Vietnamese national attire) was held, a concert program was held with the participation of famous Vietnamese performers and People's Artist Fidan Hajiyeva, and delicious samples of Vietnamese cuisine were presented to the visitors.

During the days, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Heydar Aliyev Center, Azerbaijan State Television, the National Academy of Sciences, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations (ASAN Service), the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, the Center of Analysis of International Relations, and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
