Thua Thien - Hue Welcomes Back International Tourists by Sea

On the morning of October 10, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien - Hue province coordinated with the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to welcome the first international delegation to the locality by sea after a long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The cruise ship Le Laperouse (France) operated by Vivu Journeys Vietnam Joint Stock Company docked at Chan May port (Lang Co town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien - Hue) on the evening of October 9. The train brought more than 200 international guests and crew members, mainly from the European and American markets, to the ancient capital of Hue.

After docking, 82 tourists went to Hue Citadel and Minh Mang Tomb to visit and learn about the culture and relics of the Hue Ancient Capital. The guests were warmly welcomed by the local tourism industry, giving meaningful gifts of poem hats.

For the first time coming to Thua Thien - Hue, tourist Beatrice Sorbets (France) was very excited to visit Hue's Ancient Capital amidst the typical cold and rainy weather of the locality. She said that because she had heard a lot about Hue from the travel agency, she wanted to discover and experience many things about the palaces, mausoleums and temples here.

"In France, we also have royalty and palaces. So when we come here, we really want to see the residences of the kings of the past; to learn and compare the differences between cultures. culture, the history of the two countries," shared Baptiste Poincignon Versini (France).

The return of tourists is a good signal for Thua Thien - Hue province in the recovery of tourism, especially the international tourists entering by sea.

During the voyage in Vietnam, the ship will take tourists to Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Tien Sa (Da Nang), Chan May (Hue), Hon La (Quang Binh) and Ha Long (Quang Ninh).

According to the Director of Tourism Department of Thua Thien - Hue province Nguyen Van Phuc, in September 2022, the number of visitors to the locality reached 184,872 turns; in which, with international arrivals estimated at 25,591 arrivals, an increase of more than 11% compared to the previous month. Guest stay is estimated at 133,000 turns. Tourism contributes to the province's revenue estimated at 530 billion VND.

Many other tourists also find it interesting to directly explore Hue heritage sites and cultural sites, impressed with the image of Hue's ao dai and conical hat - which they had previously only seen through movies and information and images introduced in the media.
