On March 22, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) held an online discussion with the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (BSFC) on the direction of cooperation in the future.
At the talks, Nina Ivanova, head of BSFC, said that BSFC was founded in July 1926. The main activity of BSFC is to disseminate the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Belarusian people, strengthen friendship and cooperation between Belarus and the peoples of the world.
Belarus-Vietnam Friendship Association is one of the oldest member organizations of BSFC, established more than 60 years ago. Members of the Association include veterans, young people, Belarusian students and Vietnamese students studying in Belarus.
Nina Ivanova asked VUFO to provide documents about Vietnamese culture, history, and literature to spread this information to the young generation of Belarus. She also proposed increasing the exchange of youth groups of the two countries.
Phan Anh Son, president of Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, said this online conversation was the result of a working session between VUFO and Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov two months ago.
According to Son, one of VUFO's goals is to strengthen cooperation on people's channels between Vietnam and Belarus.
In the coming time, VUFO will organize talks and share information about the country and people of Belarus. Thereby, it helps Vietnamese people, especially the younger generation, understand more about Belarus.
"We value people-to-people diplomacy with the Republic of Belarus in general as well as relations with BSFC in particular," Phan Anh Son said.
The two sides also discussed enhancing exchange and cooperation such as organizing working groups and business delegations, promoting the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two organizations.
