Speaking at the ceremony, Zhang Bang, Deputy Director of the East Asia Department of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, emphasized: “Over the past days, you have learned, exchanged, and shared together. From the echoes of history at the Hongyan Revolutionary Site to President Ho Chi Minh’s former residence, from the Eighth Route Army Office to the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor Logistics Port - each step you took carried respect for history and a spirit of inheriting friendship, weaving together the timeless ‘red memories’ of Vietnam and China.”

Zhang highlighted the meaningful experiences in Chongqing, noting that the exhibits at the Hongyan Revolutionary Site helped young participants understand the steadfast revolutionary spirit, while President Ho Chi Minh’s simple working room stood as a vivid testament to the profound bond of “comradeship and brotherhood” between the revolutionary leaders of the two nations.

“The lectures delivered by experts and scholars further deepened this red memory, from revolutionary poems praised by President Ho Chi Minh to the practical cooperation between Chongqing and Vietnam, all embodying the friendship that lives in every heart,” he said.

Representing the Vietnamese delegation, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Ngoc Hung shared: “The past four days have been more than a journey; they have been a meaningful return to the roots of the great friendship between our two peoples. Together, we walked the paths and visited the historical sites where, nearly 80 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh and the revolutionary leaders of both countries stood shoulder to shoulder. The ‘Red Journey’ undertaken by our young participants is a continuation of the path our predecessors once paved.”

Nguyen Ngoc Hung stressed that the trip not only brought young people closer to the past but also allowed them to witness the Chongqing of today: “Modern, innovative, and rapidly developing - this demonstrates that the revolutionary spirit of Hongyan in the past has become a powerful driving force for building a prosperous and happy life for the people. You, the young generation, are the spring of Vietnam-China friendship, not only inheriting this precious legacy but also shaping its future.”

Representing Vietnamese youth, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Vu Viet Hung shared: “The journey in Chongqing gave me the opportunity to ‘touch’ both the history and the future of Vietnam–China friendship through invaluable experiences. We not only gained knowledge about the relations between the two Parties and States but also felt the bonds of friendship, comradeship, and brotherhood. Every stop along the way was a living page of history, reminding us of our responsibility to carry forward this tradition.”

He affirmed that the spirit of the “Red Journey” would not end there: “Nearly 50 Vietnamese young participants will continue to spread the flame of this journey within our communities - sharing stories about the remarkable development of Chongqing, the warmth of our Chinese friends, and the shared responsibility our young generations bear in building an ever-stronger Vietnam-China friendship.”
