Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association aids US$2,200 for flood victims in central Vietnam

Responding to the call of Vietnamese government on donating for people in central Vietnam who suffer from difficulties and great losses due to record flooding, the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association has launched fund-raising campaign and received VND 50 million (US$2156), said Mr. Bui Khac Son.
“The Association's member organizations in the provinces are also mobilizing more support for the central region. Hopefully, the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue serving as a bridge to transfer the association’s donation to the central people”, he added.

Mr. Hau A Lenh, Vice President - General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee expressed thanks for the timely and meaningful assistance of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association.
“The donation of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association will be soon delivered to people in flooded areas in central provinces”, said Mr. Hau A Lenh.
To share losses and difficulties with central provinces, not only domestic organizations, enterprises and individuals but also many overseas Vietnamese communities, international organizations and friends provide aid packages as well as send their sympathy and condolences.
| Vietnam’s central coastal region has suffered unprecedented flooding from prolonged downpours and successive typhoons since early October, resulting in at least 130 deaths recorded so far, with 18 persons listed as missing. On October 28, storm Molave battered the region - one of the strongest storms in 20 years. At least 5.5 million people in the region have been affected. |
