| Vietnam Representative Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy crowned Miss International 2024 |
Thuy is a 21-year-old student from Da Nang who was crowned as the winner of the Miss Vietnam 2022 competition. Bested 70 other aspirants from different countries and territories around the world, she becomes the first Vietnamese woman to be crowned Miss International in ceremonies held at the Tokyo Dome City Hall on Tuesday evening, Nov. 12.
Four women were named runners-up, including first runner-up Camila Ribera Roca from Bolivia, second runner-up Alba Perez from Spain, third runner-up Sakra Guerrero from Venezuela, and fourth runner-up Sophie Kirana from Indonesia.
First launched back in 1960, Miss International is one of the four largest international beauty pageants, alongside Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth.
In previous editions of the competition, Vietnamese representatives won high prizes, including Pham Hong Thuy Van who finished as the third runner-up in 2015, Tuong San who was among the Top 8 in 2019, and Nguyen Phuong Nhi who was a Top 15 finalist.
