According to the report on the 2020 - 2024 term, the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Da Nang city faced many difficulties and challenges, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Still, it successfully completes goals and tasks to contribute to the development of friendship, cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges between Da Nang and Thailand, thereby consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries.

In particular, it has organized many exciting and diverse activities, namely the International conference combined with a photo exhibition on strengthening friendship and connecting trade - investment - tourism from Da Nang - Thailand. In August 2022, it joined the delegation of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association to Thailand. It also coordinated with the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Central Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association to organize the 12th Joint Conference between the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association and the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association. It hosted many other Thai delegations to visit and work in Da Nang and strengthened foreign exchange information work between two peoples. Within the term, the contact with the Royal Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, and with the Central Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association were closely maintained.

The Congress consulted to elect the Executive Committee, Inspection Committee and Standing Committee of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Da Nang city for the term 2024 - 2029. Pham Huu Hoa - Chairman of Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Da Nang city was re-elected for the new term.

Speaking at the Congress, Nguyen Viet Loan, Vice President - General Secretary of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association sent congratulations to the Congress from Senior Lieutenant General, Associate Professor. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, former Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Chairman of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association. Loan noted that the outstanding achievements of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Da Nang city achieved during the 2020-2024 term is the base for the member to continue organizing more meaningful activities in the coming time.

On the other hand, Nguyen Ngoc Binh, Chairman of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Da Nang City spoke about the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Thailand in general, and the cooperative relationship between Da Nang city and Thailand in particular. He proposed that after the Congress, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Da Nang city soon assign tasks and develop an activity plan to implement the Congress' resolutions and enhance the effectiveness of its activities.
