“Vietnam – the jewel of Southeast Asia” documentary film launched in Algeria
To celebrate the 74th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnamese Independence Day September 2, on August 27 at the IBN Zeydoun Film Center in Algiers, the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria in collaboration with the Algerian Ministry of Culture held a screening of the documentary film "Vietnam, the Jewel of Asia".
The film is produced by Lotus Films (Algeria), directed by Algeria talented director Samir Lezzoum. It recreates vividly Dien Bien Phu victory, with impressive and touching scenes about the heroic sacrifice of the Vietnamese army and people.
Shot in many provinces and cities of Vietnam including Hanoi, Dien Bien, Son La, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh and some other localities in the Central and the South, especially Ho Chi Minh City, the film also introduces to audience the achievements of socio-economic development and international integration of Vietnam.
Speaking at the screening, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Pham Quoc Tru highly appreciated the determination and efforts of Algerian filmmakers. The Ambassador said that this is a vivid expression of the good traditional friendship and close cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam.
On the same day, Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria held a photo exhibition to introduce to international friends the beauty of Vietnam.
