The program is organized under the auspices of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) - the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, who always had a special love for children.

The children's paintings are not merely artistic creations but also patriotic messages—a cultural bridge between the two homelands.'

Launched in March 2025, the painting contest attracted significant participation, with nearly 50 submissions from Vietnamese language classes across Japan. Through innocent yet evocative drawings, the children depicted their homeland as seen through their eyes—bamboo fences, rice fields, conical hats, and warm family reunions.

Following a fair and thorough evaluation, the Organizing Committee awarded several prizes: one First Prize (a round-trip air ticket from Vietnam to Japan, sponsored by Sunshine Global Company), two Second Prizes, three Third Prizes, and five Encouragement Prizes.

Le Thuong, President of the General Association of Vietnamese in the Kansai region and a representative of the Organizing Committee, emphasized: 'Through this contest, we hope children not only develop an art appreciation but also deepen their understanding of their homeland and beloved Uncle Ho. No matter where they are born, this serves as a way for each child to keep the Vietnamese spirit alive in their hearts.

In addition to the award ceremony, the Children's Day program brought a bustling, warm atmosphere with performances, folk games, and many gifts for the children.

Many parents shared their emotions when seeing their children integrate into a space imbued with Vietnamese culture in the heart of Osaka.

The program is not only a useful playground but also a meaningful community activity, contributing to spreading Vietnamese culture, looking back to the roots and building a young generation of Vietnamese people who are confident, patriotic, and attached to their homeland in the context of international integration.
