Vietnam has been actively implementing and promoting efforts to prevent and combat human trafficking in line with the key measures and tasks set out in the Program on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control for the 2021–2025 Period, with Orientations Toward 2030. Notably, this includes the adoption of the Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control 2024; strengthening investigation, prosecution, and trial of human trafficking cases; identifying and assisting victims; and promptly responding to emerging challenges in the regional and global human trafficking situation.
Vietnam is also making efforts to fulfill the objectives of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) in accordance with the Implementation Plan issued by the Prime Minister on March 20, 2020. These efforts aim to strengthen a transparent migration environment, protect the rights and legitimate interests of migrants, and prevent the risk of human trafficking in international migration activities.
In this spirit, Vietnam hopes that the two countries will continue close cooperation, enhance exchanges and dialogues, and conduct more comprehensive and positive assessments of Vietnam’s efforts and achievements in combating human trafficking, in line with the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the United States for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development.
