Vietnamese class opened for Vietnamese youth in the Netherlands
(VNF) – The Vietnamese Embassy to the Netherlands Ngo Thi Hoa, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Vietnamese language teaching class for overseas Vietnamese children on October 15th.

The class is jointly organized by the Embassy and the Vietnamese association to Netherlands, sponsored by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.
The class aims at preserving the mother tongue among Vietnamese people of second and third generation in Netherlands and increasing the communication in the language among the Vietnamese community in the country in general, and among the Vietnamese youth in particular.
Moreover, the class is expected to inspire Vietnamese young students to commit to contributing to homeland when they grow up.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ambassador Ngo Thi Hoa hoped overseas Vietnamese family and the Vietnamese Association in the Netherlands will lend great support for their children on their Vietnamese learning journey.
In the first few lesson, parents play a significant role in guiding the students to overcome initial difficulties, and smoothening their adaptation process in the new environment, with new teachers and classmates, Hoa said.

Representatives of the Vietnamese Association in the Netherlands, Pham Van Dinh, thanked the Embassy and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs for their attention for the children on occasion of Mid Autumn Festival.
On behalf of the Vietnamese students’ families, Dinh affirmed the families would offer the best conditions for the students and maintain contact with the class organizers to ensure their regular attendance and positive results.

Lam My, 16, a student of the class said she wished to improve her Vietnamese skills to confidently communicate with friends when attending the annual summer camp for Vietnamese youth organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the academic year 2017 – 2018, the class is expected to train around 10 students of age 6-16.
The goal of the class is to provide the students with reading and speaking Vietnamese language, while facilitate communication and enhance understanding of the language and nourish the love for family, homeland in the young generation's heart./.
