Vietnamese intellectuals in Germany pin high hope on new Government

Professor Nguyen Van Thoai from the University of Trier, and Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh, Vice President of German-Vietnamese Innovation and Economic Forum and President of the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Germany, shared the view that with achievements recorded over the past time, as well as the Government’s experience and resolve, Vietnam will continue to gain successes in containing the COVID-19 pandemic, maintaining political stability and developing the national economy.
The overseas Vietnamese community believes that the Party and State will further devise sound leadership policies to make the country thrive and consolidate its relations with international friends, especially Germany and Europe, they said.
They also suggested the new government adopt policies that would facilitate investment and connectivity between overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese-German entrepreneurs and experts in Germany with the homeland.

Giving comments on the newly-elected Government head, Pham Minh Chinh, both of them appreciated his experience gained through years of working in many important positions.
The Prime Minister will likely set forth suitable policies to drive the country ahead, while resolutely safeguarding national independence and sovereignty, Thoai believed.

Viet Anh said with the resoluteness and the spirit of creativeness and innovation of the Government and the PM, the economic and trade ties between Vietnam and Germany and the EU as well will make outstanding strides.
Asked about the new government’s role in the relations between Vietnam and ASEAN, in the implementation of the country’s international missions and in ASEAN-EU connectivity, he said Vietnam is a driving force of ASEAN.

The country’s assumption the United Nations Security Council Presidency in April will surely create good influences on maintaining peace in the South China Sea (Bien Dong Sea), ASEAN and other regions around the world, he said.
“This affirms the country’s position, but also puts pressures on the new government in leading the grouping and maintaining security in the Bien Dong Sea,” he continued.
Both intellectuals also lauded Vietnam’s efforts in the COVID-19 pandemic combat and post-pandemic economic recovery and development./.
