Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Le Cao Thang highly appreciated the working trip of the delegation to Vietnam on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.

Dr. Le Cao Thang affirmed that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) and the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU) always cooperate effectively while following the good tradition cultivated by revolutionary leaders, including the cooperation in training Lao trade union officials at TUU.

“The first course included 20 key leaders in the Central Office of the Lao Trade Union. Since then, VGCL and the General Meeting of Shareholders have trained at the school for the Lao Trade Union Organization 617 times.", Dr. Le Cao Thang said, "Also in 2018, TUU was assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to support the Lao Trade Union Development Institute to open the College of Labor Protection.

TUU leaders reaffirmed that the school will continue to implement the cooperation agreement between VGCL and LFTU in the 2018-2023 period to improve the quality and effectiveness of training Laotian students.

Regarding the coordination between the two trade union organizations, especially the personnel training cooperation between TUU and LFTU, the President of LFTU said that this is an effective and practical cooperation model.

“After studying at the Trade Union University, many officials returned home to take up leadership positions in Lao trade unions at central and local levels, as well as other sectors, thereby demonstrating the close and effective direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in strengthening trade union relations with the Lao Trade Union," said Aly Vong Nor Bun Tham.

The President of LFTU highlighted the close ties between the LFTU and the university, saying generations of officials of the LFTU Central Committee have undergone training at the TUU. She also acknowledged the support of the university in assisting in the preparation of textbooks on labor protection and sending teachers to train in person and online during the Covid-19 outbreak period.

In addition to maintaining the current training of Laotian students, Aly Vong Nor Bun Tham also asked the University of Trade Unions to research and support the Lao Trade Union Development Institute in teacher training, and system curriculum in the near future.
