The congress reviewed the performance of the SVUK during the 2022 to 2024 term, noting many encouraging achievements. The association successfully maintained connections and supported the development of the Vietnamese student community in the UK through its communication channels and network of 46 affiliated student associations (Vietsoc) at universities and colleges across the UK.
For the 2024 to 2026 term, the congress outlined key directions and tasks, focusing on maintaining and expanding student-oriented activities, raising awareness, and enhancing skills for students. The new executive committee, consisting of 17 members and led by Chairman Cao Quoc Dung, was elected. Additionally, a five-member advisory board was established to support the executive committee in guiding and operating the association's activities.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK, Do Minh Hung, emphasized the need for SVUK to innovate its activities in line with the nation’s progress, as highlighted by Party General Secretary To Lam. He also updated on efforts to enhance educational and training cooperation between Vietnam and the UK, reaffirming the Vietnamese Embassy's support for student activities.
Ho Hong Nguyen, permanent chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, joined the event online, affirming the Party and State's trust in the young generation as the core force shaping the nation's future. She stressed the importance of promoting academic activities and scientific research in the new term.
