The tour is developed under a cooperation programme between the centre and its Republic of Korea (RoK)’s partner, IV COM Co., Ltd.
Accordingly, Hue imperial city is the first heritage site in Vietnam and one of three sites in the world to deploy the advanced technology to serve visitors, together with two other sites in China and the RoK.
By taking the virtual tour, visitors are invited to take a tour inside a multidimensional space where the past and present meet, travelling back to 200 years ago to explore the elaborate design and grandiose exteriors of Khai Dinh tomb, the resting place of Khai Dinh Emperor (1885-1925), recreated in glorious colours.
The launch of the tour aims to add a highlight for visitors during their exploration of the Complex of Hue Monuments, which was honoured by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. ts construction began in 1805 in the reign of King Gia Long, founder of the Nguyen Dynasty and ended in 1832 in the reign of King Minh Mang. 200 years have passed but the imperial citadel with nearly 140 buildings still remains almost intact.
Built along the Perfume River, Hue citadel is a huge complex covering an area of 520ha and comprising three circles of ramparts, Kinh Thanh Hue (Hue Capital Citadel), Hoang Thanh (Royal Citadel) and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden Citadel)./.
