VJFA Chairman meets Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Special Advisor

(VNF) - To Huy Rua, Chairman of the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association (VJFA) had a cordial meeting with Mr. Tsutomo Takebe, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance on October 24th.

Chairman Rua expressed his pleasure to meet Mr. Tsutomu Takebe, a close friend of Vietnamese people, and spoke highly of his active role in encouraging cooperation activities between Vietnam and Japan in various fields. He also expressed his great honor to receive the Order of the Rising Sun by the Japanese State – the most honored Medal for foreigners.

He said Vietnam will continuously nurture and develop the two countries’ rapport for the sake of their people as well as peace, stability and prosperity in Asia.

At the meeting, Chairman Rua has reported the operations VJFA had conducted in nine months of 2016.

Accordingly, in nine months of the year, the association’s chapters in Tra Vinh, Dong Nai has been established and the chapters in Quang Nam, Binh Duong is being promoted to establish, so far there are 20 provinces and municipalities direct under the VJFA.

On May 8th, the Japan-Vietnam Peace and Friendship Promotion Council (JVPF) in Saitama had visited and surveyed the construction of gratitude houses in Quang Nam. At the same time, the JVPF-Saitama also met representatives from the Fukuoka Association of the Cultural Exchange and General Secretary of Vietnam Association to discuss the possibility of cooperation between the two organizations.

In April, the VJFA sponsored Japanese cherry blossom festival at Thang Long Citadel; met with Japan's Dotoku Kaikan; introduced tea ceremony to establish the tea ceremony society and expanded tea culture in Vietnam.

The chairman also hailed the parliamentary ties between Vietnam and Japan, saying the two sides have successfully realised a lot of ideas, notably bringing Vietnamese lotus to Japan and completing the construction of Japan – Vietnam University in Vietnam.

For his part, Tsutomo Takebe, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance congratulated the newly-elected Chairman Rua and his Rising Sun Order in recognition of his contributions to enhancing the two countries’ relations.

He spoke highly of Chairman Rua’s efforts towards the development of the friendship and co-operation between Vietnam and Japan in the past years. He also expressed his belief that VJFA Chairman Rua would continue to bolster the two countries’ relationship in the future.

Vietnam – Japan relations are in its best period. Relations between the two countries were built and fostered at local level through activities of strengthening, promoting and Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association’s chapters were newly established in many Vietnam’s provinces and cities; Vietnamese Friendship Associations closely connected with many Japanese provinces and cities.

The Vietnam - Japan University has enrolled students for two post-graduates classes in September. He said this university is the symbol of friendship and strategic cooperation in education, science and culture between Vietnam and Japan, adding that he believes in the university’s future development.

Chairman To Huy Rua pledged to support the Vietnam - Japan University and promoting opportunities for VJFA to strengthen cooperation more practical and between Vietnam and Japan./.
