VUS welcomes the Friendship Force Marlborough
(VNF) - Vice President of the Vietnam – USA Society (VUS) Bui The Giang on October 4 held a reception for the Friendship Force Marlborough– New Zealand delegation (FF Marlborough) during their working visit to Vietnam (Oct 1st – 16th, 2018).

In the meeting, VUS Vice President updated the delegation on current Vietnam’s development progress and Vietnam – New Zealand bilateral relations. Vietnam and New Zealand are joining forces in promoting ties in fields of trade, tourism, technological science and education, he said, highlighting that Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to New Zealand last March marked a milestone in the development of the relation.
Giang also briefed the delegates on VUFO’s missions, Vietnam’s people-to-people diplomacy, the solidarity between the Vietnamese and other countries' people, the postwar challenges and the efforts of Vietnam and international friend in dealing with them.
The sharing was followed by a Q&A session on Vietnam’s current socio-economic development.
During their 2-week trip, the 17-member delegation of FF Marlborough are scheduled to visit Vietnam’s various sights and relics, attend sharing sessions on Vietnam’s development and integration, and experience local life through homestay programs in Hanoi, Hue city.
FF Marlborough is a member of the Friendship Force International (FFI) – a major partner of VUS. FFI and VUS have regularly launched friendship forces exchanges to promote mutual understanding and people-to-people friendship. Besides with FFI clubs in the US, VUS expands its partnership with FFI Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Thailand./.
