As the world's largest conservation organization with more than 5 million supporters globally, WWF operates in more than 100 countries and territories, supporting approximately 1,300 conservation and environmental protection projects. The organization's mission is to prevent the degradation of the Earth's natural environment and build a future where people live in harmony with nature.
Since the 1980s, WWF has been present in Vietnam, together with national and international scientists to identify national biodiversity values and major conflicts and threats to Vietnam's environment. This is one of the valuable sources of information contributing to the development of Vietnam's first National Conservation Strategy.
WWF-Vietnam has implemented many livelihood improvement programs for local people. Successful models can be mentioned as community-based ecotourism models, cocoa and cashew cultivation models - combined agriculture and forestry, and technically intensive shrimp farming models.
One of WWF-Vietnam's other achievements is to deal with the impacts of climate change (climate change). WWF-Vietnam has introduced many programs to influence public awareness and policy influence at the central and local levels. Earth Hour can be considered a typical success.
