Vietnam, Bulgaria Promote Future Legal And Judicial Cooperation

According to the Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria, with the continued positive development of Vietnam-Bulgaria relations in many fields after the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Partnership in 2025, the meeting is an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on cooperation directions to effectively implement the commitments and agreements agreed upon by the high-level leaders of the two countries.
During the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet congratulated Bulgarian Minister of Justice Nikolay Naydenov Nikolay Naydenov on his appointment as Minister of Justice of Bulgaria, and expressed confidence that, with his experience and prestige, he will continue to make positive contributions to the judicial reform process and the building of a rule of law state in Bulgaria.
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet emphasized that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria is a precious asset that has been carefully nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both countries over the past seven decades. Building on this foundation, bilateral relations are entering a new phase of development with many promising prospects. She affirmed that, along with cooperation in politics, economics, trade, investment, and education and training, cooperation in law and justice plays a crucial role in strengthening the legal framework and creating favorable conditions for bilateral cooperation to become increasingly in-depth and substantive.
Both sides agreed that cooperation in law and justice has yielded many positive results in the past period, and affirmed their desire to continue strengthening exchanges of delegations, sharing experiences in lawmaking and enforcement, training human resources, and expanding professional cooperation between the judicial agencies of the two countries.

Bulgarian Justice Minister Nikolay Naydenov affirmed that Bulgaria has always considered Vietnam one of its important partners in Southeast Asia and highly appreciated the strong development in bilateral relations in recent times. Also, both sides should continue to build on the good cooperation traditions established by previous generations, while strengthening the exchange of experiences in areas of mutual interest, especially digital transformation and the application of information technology in judicial activities.
He also highly appreciated Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements in recent years, and expressed his desire to further strengthen channels of exchange and cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries to improve the effectiveness of judicial activities and better serve the needs of citizens and businesses.

A number of legal issues related to the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria was discussed at the meeting. Both sides agreed to continue maintaining dialogue and close coordination to create favorable conditions for the community, contributing to strengthening people-to-people exchanges and consolidating the social foundation for the Vietnam-Bulgaria Strategic Partnership.
As the two sides affirmed their determination to continue promoting cooperation in law and justice, considering it one of the important pillars of bilateral relations, maintaining regular exchange and consultation mechanisms between relevant agencies were highlighted. It is important that experiences can be shared as well as new cooperation initiatives that align with the development needs of each country can be promoted.
Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet emphasized that the Vietnamese Embassy in Bulgaria will continue to play a bridging role, closely coordinating with the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice to effectively implement cooperation activities in the coming time, contributing to further deepening the Vietnam-Bulgaria Strategic Partnership.
