Zhi Shan Foundation Marks 30 Years of Operations in Vietnam, Receives Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister

According to the Hue City Web Portal, the ceremony was attended by Dong Huy Cuong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations; Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee; and leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and sectors.

According to reports and remarks delivered at the ceremony, throughout its 30-year journey alongside Vietnam, the Zhi Shan Foundation has implemented numerous practical support programs, contributing to the care and empowerment of hundreds of thousands of children in difficult circumstances. From remote and disadvantaged areas, many children have received support for education and healthcare, enabling them to steadily pursue knowledge and move toward a brighter future.

The implementation of the Zhi Shan Foundation’s activities has consistently received attention, close coordination, and positive evaluations from authorities at all levels, partners, and local communities. Projects have been carried out in line with their objectives, ensuring effectiveness and sustainability, based on a harmonious combination of the organization’s stable and timely funding and the sense of responsibility and active coordination of relevant agencies and units.

In the central region, the Zhi Shan Foundation has been implementing support programs in five provinces and cities, contributing to improvements in learning conditions, healthcare, and the overall quality of life for children in difficult circumstances. Phu Loc District, in the former Thua Thien Hue Province, is one of the localities that has received support from the organization since 2017 and has effectively utilized the aid, bringing about positive changes for beneficiaries.

One of the Zhi Shan Foundation’s flagship initiatives is the Overcoming hardship scholarship project, which has been implemented since 1998. After 27 years of implementation, the project has accompanied and supported more than 10,000 students from disadvantaged backgrounds; among them, over 1,200 have graduated from universities and colleges and secured stable employment.

At the ceremony, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Dong Huy Cuong presented the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister to the Zhi Shan Foundation in recognition of the organization’s sustained contributions to child support and community development. On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee Tran Huu Thuy Giang also presented a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee to the Zhi Shan Foundation.
