On September 26, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People’s Committee, held a press conference to introduce the program. The event was chaired by Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh, with the attendance of ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations, and leaders of various central and local agencies.

In his remarks, Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh emphasized: “The World Culture Festival in Hanoi is an important initiative to honor culture as a pillar of sustainable development and as a bridge that connects nations and peoples in overcoming common challenges such as conflicts, pandemics, and climate change, toward peace and prosperity.”

He also expressed his hope that the festival would become an annual event where the cultural identities of different nations are presented, preserved, and shared, thereby enriching the global multicultural landscape.

According to Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as of September 25, 48 diplomatic missions, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers had registered to participate. The festival will feature: 45 national cultural spaces, 33 culinary booths, 16 international art troupes, 12 book exhibitors, and 20 countries submitting films for screening.

Within the framework of the event, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of vibrant activities such as the Hanoi World Culture Day, the Ao Dai Festival, international cuisine showcases, film screenings, folk dances, art exhibitions, international costume performances, and a book fair. The festival promises to bring together the cultural quintessence of all five continents to Vietnam’s thousand-year-old capital.

At the press conference, the organizers also announced the official website of the festival at https://Worldculturefestival.vn, which provides detailed information and facilitates public access to the event.

Under the theme “Culture as the foundation - Art as the medium,” the first World Culture Festival in Hanoi is expected to become an annual international cultural diplomacy event, helping to promote people-to-people exchanges, strengthen mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and international friends, and reaffirm the role of culture in advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
