American BBQ Festival Held in Hanoi to Celebrate Bilateral Agricultural Trade

The festival was hosted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi on September 21.

In his remarks, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper highlighted the Vietnam - US cooperative relations. "In 2022, the level of bilateral trade was more than 300 times greater than it was in 1995. This event is an example of the fruitful trade relationship between the United States in Vietnam, especially in agriculture. This is a vibrant, two-way trade relationship that benefits the producers, exporters, importers, and consumers of both our nations," said the diplomat.

U.S. – Vietnam bilateral agricultural trade has grown rapidly during the last five years, with bilateral agricultural trade between the two countries reaching US$ 9.8 billion in 2022. Vietnam is the ninth largest importer of U.S. agricultural products, while the United States is the largest importer of Vietnamese agricultural products.

As the two countries recently upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, ample opportunities lie ahead for the promotion of the U.S.–Vietnam agricultural trade, contributing to building a prosperous future for the two peoples.

At the event, guests enjoy American BBG featuring a diverse array of 20 dishes made from 28 U.S. ingredients including California cheese, Washington apples, and Wisconsin ginseng.
