Ho Guom Theatre held the event under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security and the Department of Political Affairs to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Fascism (May 9, 1945 – May 9, 2025), as well as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30).

The program featured works such as “Symphony No. 5 (Finale)” by composer Dmitri Shostakovich and “1812 Overture, Op. 49 (Finale)” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, alongside Russian songs with Vietnamese lyrics, including “Victory Day” by David Tukhmanov and “Motherland” by Serafim Tulikov.
In addition to Russian music, the concert also showcased iconic Vietnamese compositions that have accompanied the nation's historical journey, including “Ho Chi Minh – Dep nhat ten Nguoi” (Ho Chi Minh – The Most Beautiful Name) by composer Tran Kiet Tuong, “Dat nuoc tron niem vui” (The Country in Joyful Unity) by Hoang Ha, and “To quoc toi chua dien the bao gio” (Never Has My Homeland Been This Beautiful” by Hoang Van.

The program was directed in content by Major General and People’s Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Affairs, Ministry of Public Security. Artistic direction was led by People’s Artist Bui Cong Duy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Performers included the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra and the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet under the baton of conductor Tran Nhat Minh; People’s Artist Bui Cong Duy; Meritorious Artist Pham Khanh Ngoc; and vocalists Nguyen Khac Hoa, Nguyen Bao Yen, Pham Trang, and Nguyen Truong Linh.
