An ASEAN cultural festival was organized by the embassies of Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and the administration of Karlovy Vary province on June 20^th in the city of Sokolov of Karlovy Vary province to promote the cultures of ASEAN countries in the Czech Republic.

The festival introduced the landscape, cuisine, music, costume and culture of the ASEAN countries to local people.

At the event, the booth of the Vietnamese Embassy displaying traditional long dresses, palm-leaf conical hats, Dong Ho paintings and photos about cultural activities of the Vietnamese ethnic minorities attracted a large number of visitors. Vietnam’s art performances such as the lion and hat dance and Quan Ho singing were also enthusiastically enjoyed by audience.

Vietnamese Ambassador Truong Manh Son said that the ASEAN cultural festival was one of activities to mark the 65^th anniversary of Vietnam-Czech diplomatic ties. In the coming time, as the President of ASEAN Committee in Prague, the Vietnamese Embassy would continue to coordinate with the Embassies of the ASEAN countries and Czech authorities to organize activities to promote culture such as "ASEAN film week", "ASEAN family day", thereby tightening the solidarity and friendship among ASEAN countries in particular and with the Czech people in general.

Earlier, the embassies of ASEAN countries, including Vietnam, had a working session with the leaders of Karlovy Vary province and agreed principles in investment cooperation in the coming period, especially in the fields of tourism, resort and crystal production./.
