Award Ceremony of Youth Online Running Tournament Takes Place in Russia
"Youth Footprints 2024" is held on the occasion of the anniversary of the Southern Liberation Day - National Unification in Vietnam (April 30, 1975-2024) and the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh. It is also to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Association in the Russian Federation.
It encourages young people, especially students, to improve their physical health, develop good habits, which is a prerequisite for achieving the title "Student with good physical fitness". The prestigious 5-good student.
This is the first time a running race with an online application process was held across Russia. The race ended with a total distance of 27,320,476 km, equivalent to 3.5 laps around the Vietnamese border; 4 times the distance from Moscow to Hanoi. This marks an unprecedented record made by Vietnamese youth and students in the Russian Federation.
Runners of "Youth Footprints 2024", regardless of gender, age, or field of study, were from nearly 30 cities and 80 different universities.
There were 651 candidates registering to participate, up to 425 candidates completed a distance of over 20km - accounting for 65% of the total number of participants. There were 216 candidates completed a distance of over 50km - accounting for 33% of the total candidates.

Large groups of athletes came from Kurgan Border Guard University (48 contestants) and Syzran Air Force (37 contestants).
The longest running distance belongs to runner Bui Nhat Thinh (Baltic Naval University, Kaliningrad city). Thinh's distance was 574,920 km with a total time of 64 hours and 5 minutes.
Another runner, Phan Tuan Cuong, a member of the Youth Union from Moscow Medical University 2, believed that this is a very meaningful running race.
"This is the first time the race was held in the Russian Federation. We spread the spirit of competition, trying to surpass ourselves for a new state of being stronger, more durable, and more resilient, gaining new healthy habits of exercising," said Cuong.
Runner Luc Thi Ly participated in the race because health is one of the most important factors to bring happiness in life.
"The running race also serves as a thread that binds the community of Vietnamese students and youth across Russia to unite and run towards a path called Youth Footprints," exclaimed the female runner.
According to the Organizing Committee, "Youth Footprints 2024" demonstrated the enthusiastic sports spirit of youth in the Russian Federation, promoting physical activities among the youth community, aiming for the goal of "Student with good physical fitness" - one of the important criteria of the prestigious "5-Good Student" award. The success of Youth Footprints 2024 is also a solid stepping stone for the upcoming 2024 Student Sports Festival in the Russian Federation.
