Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture Kuroiwa Yuji highlighted the strong diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan and showcased the beautiful landscapes, natural resources, culture, and tourism of Kanagawa Prefecture. The festival serves as a platform to introduce and promote Kanagawa's beauty to the Vietnamese people.
Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council, Phung Thi Hong Ha, said the cooperative relations between Hanoi and Japanese localities and partners are not only of foreign political significance but also of practical value, reflecting shared development orientations and mutual support in construction and development.
The 2024 Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi holds special significance as it follows the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in October 2024, establishing friendly and cooperative relations between Hanoi and Kanagawa Prefecture. This MoU lays the groundwork for bilateral cooperation in various fields, including economy, investment, healthcare, tourism, arts and culture, and people-to-people exchange, thereby contributing to the economic and social development of both localities.
The festival offers visitors a rich array of experiences: immersing themselves in the festival atmosphere of Japan by trying Yukata - a unique traditional costume - and participating in stage performances; and enjoying lively and dramatic cosplay performances through the cosplay contest.
The festival runs until November 17.
