Da Nang Promotes Multifaceted Cooperation with Switzerland

The People's Committee of Da Nang City held a working session with Thomas Gass, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Vietnam, and Philipp Rosler, Chairman of the Switzerland - Vietnam Economic Forum, on November 3. The city’s leaders expressed their hope that the Ambassador would continue to serve as a bridge to promote friendship, strengthen cultural exchanges, and enhance cooperation between the two sides.

At the meeting with Swiss Ambassador Thomas Gass and Philipp Rosler, Chairman of the Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh highly appreciated the Ambassador’s role in fostering cooperation between Vietnam and Switzerland in general, and between Da Nang and Swiss localities and enterprises in particular.

The Vice Chairman also provided an overview of the city’s socio-economic development in the first nine months of the year and its development orientation following the merger with Quang Nam Province. He expressed his belief that with an expanded geographical area, a larger market, and several special mechanisms from the central government, Da Nang will have favorable conditions to strengthen international cooperation and achieve breakthroughs in the new development phase.

Ho Ky Minh stated that Da Nang is honored to join the Embassy of Switzerland and the Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum in organizing the Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum 2025 in Da Nang. This event is expected to open up numerous cooperation opportunities between Da Nang and partners from Switzerland and Europe.

The city’s leaders hoped that Ambassador Thomas Gass would continue to act as a bridge to promote friendship, introduce Da Nang’s investment environment, encourage Swiss businesses to explore cooperation opportunities in the city, and foster cultural exchanges between the two sides.

During the meeting, Swiss Ambassador Thomas Gass expressed his sympathy to the authorities and people of Da Nang for the recent flood damage, while also sharing his strong impression of the city’s development potential.

Ambassador Thomas Gass affirmed that he would continue to introduce and encourage Swiss investors to seek opportunities in Da Nang. He also expressed his confidence that the Switzerland-eVietnam Economic Forum 2025 would be a success, opening up promising prospects for effective cooperation between the two sides.
