Dak Lak, Mondulkiri Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation

During the 2024-2026 period, the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation "Building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and mutually developing border" between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province and the Cambodian Fatherland Front for Solidarity and Development of Mondulkiri province achieved many positive results. Both sides directed the Fatherland Front systems at all levels to concretize the cooperation contents. Also, 100% of border localities completed signing emulation agreements, and regular visits and exchanges of experiences were maintained.

For 2026-2028 period, the two sides will strengthen promotion and mobilization efforts to ensure that people in border areas strictly abide by border laws; coordinate with border guards, military, and police forces on both sides to protect the border and border markers; create favorable conditions for the search, collection, and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts; and mobilize resources to implement humanitarian activities and support medical examinations and treatment for people in border areas.
At the conference, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed that fostering friendly relations and cooperation between the two localities is both a political responsibility and a requirement stemming from practical development. A peaceful, stable, friendly, and cooperative border will create favorable conditions for people-to-people exchanges, economic development, preservation of cultural identity, and contribute to ensuring the national defense and security of each side.
He believed that with the foundation already built and the Memorandum of Cooperation for the period 2026-2028 signed, the friendly cooperative relationship between Dak Lak province and Mondulkiri will continue to expand in a more practical and effective direction, from social welfare and border area development to cultural exchange and strengthening connections among young generations,contributing to deepening the friendly relationship between the two localities.
Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Cambodian People's Party, Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party, Chairman of the Cambodian National United Front for Development, and Governor of Mondulkiri Province Kong Kimny highly appreciated the results of cooperation achieved in the past period, saything that the implementation of the new phase of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation will further strengthen the ties between the two localities. It will enhance the effectiveness of coordination mechanisms, towards a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and mutually developing border.

In his closing remarks at the conference, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province Y Giang Gry Nie Knong affirmed that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the period 2026-2028 is an important milestone, further strengthening the friendly and solidarity relationship between Dak Lak province and Mondulkiri province.
He suggested that the Fronts of the two provinces should soon concretize the signed agreements, strengthen promotion and mobilization of the people to strictly abide by border regulations, expand exchange and cooperation activities in various fields, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and sustainably developing Vietnam-Cambodia border. With the determination of both sides, the cooperation contents will continue to be implemented effectively, contributing to fostering the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two localities, making them even closer and more developed in the future.
