At the seminar, Hoang Thi Le Hang, Chief Representative of APHEDA, said that efforts to strengthen the role of female elected representatives in political work in Dak Lak have been supported by the GENPOLID project (Promoting Gender Equality - Strengthening the Role of Female Elected Representatives in Political Engagement) since 2023.

As a result, thousands of female representatives and women included in leadership planning in Dak Lak have been equipped with modern skills, such as applying artificial intelligence (AI) in their work and building network connections through the People’s Council Female Delegates Club. The club provides a space for female leaders to share practical experience, support one another in overcoming challenges and gender stereotypes. These are valuable resources helping candidates become more confident on their journey to win voters’ trust in the upcoming 2026 elections.

Speaking at the seminar, former Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Laws Ngo Tu Nam emphasized the importance of sincerity in election campaigning: voters do not choose the person who speaks the best, but the one they trust the most. As long as women speak with sincerity and from real-life experience, their voices can touch people’s hearts. Female candidates need to design action programs that match their functions and truly reflect people’s concerns.

Former Director of the National Assembly’s Training Center for Elected Representatives Nguyen Thi Ky noted that each grassroots chapter and member should pay attention to digital transformation skills, change mindsets and working methods to keep pace with the digital era, and contribute to the community. Women need to fully exercise their right to participate in governance by contributing ideas to policymaking, promptly reflecting people’s aspirations and concerns, and serving as an important bridge between voters and authorities.

At the same time, the province needs practical support mechanisms, such as building a gender bias-free working environment, providing financial and media support for female candidates, and adopting policies that help women balance work and family responsibilities.

In addition, experts proposed that Dak Lak should strengthen key solutions, including training women officials in political resilience, developing action programs for female cadres, helping them overcome pressure from gender stereotypes, and affirming women’s voices in deliberative bodies. They also recommended planning and training a pool of ethnic minority women officials to participate in People’s Councils at all levels, contributing their voices to the community’s sustainable development. With these measures, Dak Lak’s women officials will be more confident in making breakthroughs, contributing their expertise to policy development and ensuring gender equality is implemented in a substantive manner.

It is known that in the past term, Dak Lak has seen an increase in the number of female officials participating in state management and political activities, with their capacity continuing to improve. Party committees and local authorities have created favorable conditions for women to develop comprehensively and participate in most areas of social life. This has gradually helped change stereotypes about women’s roles in society, leading to a more accurate assessment of women’s role and position in the province’s economic, political and social activities.
