The Hanoi International Jazz Festival 2026 - Hanoi Jazztival 2026 themed “Jazz Hanoi - Melody Without Borders” will take place in the capital from September 17 to September 19.

The information was announced by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Hanoi at the press conference on the Hanoi International Jazz Festival 2026 on the afternoon of August 12.

With the presence of many renowned artists and bands from the United States, France, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and other countries, alongside representative Vietnamese jazz artists such as Quyen Van Minh, Longwaits Ensemble…, the Hanoi International Jazz Festival 2026 is expected to bring high-quality artistic programmes while promoting exchanges, cooperation, and developing jazz networks between Vietnam and the international community.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Anh Mai said the organising committee hopes to develop Hanoi Jazztival into an annual international jazz festival and a distinctive cultural brand of Hanoi, with regional and global influence.

The festival demonstrates the city’s commitment to implementing Party and State policies to develop the cultural industry and further enhance Hanoi’s status as a UNESCO Creative City. Hanoi Jazztival 2026 is also the beginning of a series of international arts events that Hanoi is developing alongside the Thang Long - Hanoi Festival, the World Culture Festival, the expanded Hanoi Theatre Festival, and the Hanoi International Film Festival.

On September 17, the festival will open with the “Jazz & Streets” exhibition, the “Woman in jazz” programme, and the launch event “Sounds of Hanoi Jazz”, combining the opening ceremony with performances by Vietnamese and international jazz artists.

On September 18, dialogue and networking activities will continue the international seminar “Hanoi and Jazz”, the workshop “Language of Jazz in traditional music”, Jam Jazz Session, the “Jazz without borders” concert, and jazz nights at clubs.

On September 19, the festival will conclude with Street Jazz performances on the Ho Guom pedestrian streets, the “Jazz and Heritage” programme at the 22 Hang Buom Cultural and Arts Centre, and the Hanoi Jazz Festival 2026 Gala at the Octagonal House.

Hanoi Jazztival 2026 aims to shape a distinctive identity for Vietnamese jazz, bring the genre closer to the public, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Vietnamese artists and the international jazz community.
