Many Activities to Celebrate National Day

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945-September 2, 2026), Hanoi will hold fireworks displays at five locations, along with a wide range of vibrant programs and experiential activities in various areas to serve residents and visitors.

According to the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city will organize fireworks displays at five locations, including the area in front of the headquarters of Hanoimoi Newspaper, in front of Hanoi Post Office, Dua Island, Thong Nhat Park, and the F1 racetrack at the National Sports Complex and Lac Long Quan Flower Garden. The fireworks will be launched from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on September 2, lasting 15 minutes.

Numerous artistic programs for residents will also take place in different areas. Hoan Kiem Ward will host a large-scale artistic program presented by the Hanoi Cheo Theatre on September 1 and 2 at the area around Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden, in front of the “Determined to Die for the Survival of the Fatherland” Monument. On September 2, artistic programs will also be held at the square of My Dinh Stadium, Thong Nhat Park, and Lac Long Quan Flower Garden.

Meanwhile, the communes of Dan Phuong, Minh Chau, Bat Trang, and Dai Xuyen will organize artistic programs performed by city theatres. On September 2, Phuc Son Commune will host a program presented by the Hanoi Drama Theatre.

In addition to programs serving the public, the city will also organize several high-quality artistic performances under Hanoi’s cultural brand, with tickets available for purchase.

The city is expected to organize around 50 mobile film screenings in communes far from the city center, while 20 screenings will be held at Kim Dong Cinema and September 2 Cinema in Son Tay Ward.

At the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, visitors can take part in a variety of activities, including traditional folk games, artistic performances, a reading culture festival, experiences at exhibition booths, and heritage exploration. Visitors can also join the “Bringing Traditional Crafts to the Streets” activity, the night tours “The Essence of Vietnamese Scholarship and History Recorded in Stone,” the “Lacquer Dialogue” workshop, and exhibitions inspired by cultural heritage.

At the Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site, activities including exchanges with historical witnesses, daytime reenactments, and the thematic exhibition “Loyal Heart, Steadfast Will” will be organized for visitors.

Previously, to ensure public order, traffic safety, and urban aesthetics for residents and visitors during the National Day holiday, the city launched a campaign to improve transportation infrastructure, technical facilities, and environmental sanitation.

In addition to cleaning, maintaining public spaces, and installing decorations, during the five-day holiday the city’s Transport Management and Operations Center will increase public bus services to more than 17,000 trips per day. Urban railway lines 2A and 3.1 will also operate with a frequency of one train every 10 minutes.

The center has also prepared 42 standby buses to help transport passengers when demand increases. Bus routes will operate from 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Both urban railway lines 2A and 3.1 will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Throughout the five-day holiday, residents will be able to use buses and urban trains free of charge.

All of these activities aim to create a joyful and festive atmosphere across the city while promoting the image of Hanoi as a cultured, civilized, modern capital with a rich and distinctive cultural identity.
