Digital Front: Technology Empowers Vietnam Fatherland Front to Address People’s Aspirations in Time
	Australia and Vietnam Cooperate on Research in Digital and Green Agriculture

Plan International Vietnam in collaboration with the Quang Tri province's Department of Education and Training and The Dariu Foundation, on September 19 officially launched the “Girls in Tech - Children with Digital Technology” project.

In a context where only about half of rural schools are equipped with the basic facilities needed to deliver the new curriculum, this project is a concrete step toward closing the digital divide, promoting gender equality in STEM, and empowering children, especially girls, to confidently build a sustainable future.

The project implementation period is three years from 2025 to 2028, with a budget of VND 4.73 billion (about USD 179.200) from Plan International Switzerland.

Over the three-year implementation, the project aims to support 3,100 students (at least 50% girls) to join “Children with Digital Technology” clubs and lead coding projects in their schools; build the capacity of over 380 teachers in STEM, gender-sensitive career education, and digital skills; establish Makerspaces, provide equipment, and create digital playgrounds for students, and connect 50 technology mentors (60% women) to accompany and inspire students.

Nguyen Tran Nguyen, Quang Tri Program Unit Manager, Plan International Vietnam, voices his belif that 3,100 students, including many girls in disadvantaged areas, will have more opportunities to access digital technology, be equipped with skills for career orientation, and confidently build a sustainable future.

According to Mai Huy Phuong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Education and Training, this project is a combination of resources between relevant parties to bring about the highest efficiency in the field of programming and STEM education, because there is clearly a difference in the participation rate of male and female students in programming and digital technology projects at educational institutions. With this project, they expect to minimize that difference.

The project is expected to become a replicable model, contributing to narrowing the digital divide and expanding learning and career opportunities in technology for children in Quang Tri, especially girls.
