At the opening ceremony of the program, the Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee Dang Quoc Khanh affirmed the meaning as well as the importance of foreign affairs between the leaders of the Parties and States of Vietnam and China.

The Standing Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of 4 border provinces of Vietnam signed conference minutes and cooperation agreements in many fields between the two sides in Ha Giang.

In his opening remarks, Dang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Ha Giang Party Committee, said Vietnam and China had a long tradition of friendship which continued to develop in the past year.

The Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's Party Committee said 2022 was a successful year in foreign relations between China and Vietnam. Cooperation between provinces/regions has developed in all fields, especially border trade.

He proposed that provinces/regions continue to build more substantive and effective mechanisms for connection, cooperation, and exchange between leaders of the two sides after the COVID-19 pandemic in accordance with the direction of the two Parties and States; strengthen economic and trade cooperation, promote the development of prosperity and happiness; perfecting the border meeting mechanism; improve the efficiency of goods clearance between border gates; promote the construction of border trade cooperation zones; strengthen people-to-people exchanges; deepen cooperation in the field of press propaganda, tourism, and cultural cooperation; strengthen cooperation in border management and security.

The meeting emphasized the need to maintain active participation and contributions to cooperation mechanisms between the central governments of the two countries and meetings with provinces/regions of the two sides. It stressed the necessity to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, maintain and restore smooth trade activities at border gates and border markets to create favorable conditions for goods exchange activities of border residents, enhance exchanges and complete procedures for building economic cooperation zones across the border between Vietnam and China, deploy cross-border labor-management cooperation and continue to strictly implement the three legal documents on the land border between Vietnam and China.
