Friendship exchange between wards and towns

On March 14, a delegation from Tran Phu and Hai Yen wards (Mong Cai city, Vietnam) visited and engaged in friendship exchange activities with the People’s Government of Dongxing town (Dongxing city, China).

The program featured various activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, held in Dongxing town (China). These activities highlighted the enduring friendship between Tran Phu ward, Hai Yen ward, and Dongxing town, vividly reflecting the traditional relationship between Mong Cai City (Vietnam) and Dongxing City (China) over the years.

Since 2017, Tran Phu ward has maintained effective friendship exchange activities with Dongxing town (China). On June 30, 2023, Tran Phu ward and Dongxing town officially signed an agreement to establish a ward-town friendship relationship along the international border.

On January 17, 2025, Hai Yen ward and Dongxing town also signed an agreement to establish a ward-town friendship relationship along the international border. Each year, these wards and towns deepen and expand their relationship through exchanges to share economic development and cultural, artistic, and sports experiences.

These efforts underscore the good and cooperative relationship guided by the 16 golden words: "friendly neighborliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, and future-oriented thinking" and the spirit of “four good”: "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners".

During the exchange, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering cooperation between Tran Phu, Hai Yen wards (Vietnam) and Dongxing town (China) and to further enhancing the relationship between the two cities. They aim to develop the traditional friendship into a "model of friendship exchange" along the Vietnam-China border.

Through the exchange program between Tran Phu, Hai Yen wards (Mong Cai city, Vietnam) and Dongxing town (Dongxing city, China), the two sides aim to sustain the first ward-town twinning model between Vietnam and China, while promoting people-to-people diplomacy. These efforts contribute to strengthening solidarity and friendship among the people along the border, working together to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and prosperous border region.

On March 13, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces participated in the 2025 Vietnam-China Youth Tree-Planting Activity in Guangxi, China.

Under the theme “Planting friendship trees, building the future together”, young people from both countries engaged in activities such as inaugurating the friendship forest, group tree-planting, and visiting attractions such as commercial centers and the historic Tai Ping ancient town in Chongzuo city.

This tree-planting activity reflects the continued tradition of friendship, cooperation, and exchanges between the two Parties, States, peoples, and youth of Vietnam and China. Simultaneously, it contributes to environmental protection, climate change mitigation, and disaster reduction. The event also attracted and united a large number of enthusiastic youth from both countries, further strengthening the bonds between the younger generations of Vietnam and China.
