Expanding Vietnam-Thailand Cooperation Bridges in Roi Et Province

The working visit by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen to Roi Et Province contributed to expanding the network of cooperation partners in Northeastern Thailand, promoting friendship and local-level cooperation, and working toward the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand (August 6, 1976 - August 6, 2026).
Speaking at the meeting, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed his pleasure at the excellent development of Vietnam-Thailand relations across all fields. In particular, the recent official visit to Thailand by General Secretary and State President To Lam was highly successful, helping to strengthen political trust and enhance the substance of the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, while also opening up numerous opportunities for cooperation between localities in the two countries.

Congratulating Roi Et Province on its recent achievements, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh noted that Roi Et is one of the leading centers of sustainable agricultural production in Northeastern Thailand, renowned for its fragrant Hom Mali rice. This represents one of the province’s outstanding strengths and potentials.
The Consul General expressed his hope that Roi Et Province would further promote investment, trade, tourism, and agricultural cooperation with localities in Vietnam. The Consulate General of Vietnam stands ready to support connectivity and cooperation for the practical benefit of localities, businesses, and people of both countries.
At the meeting, Chatchawan Benjasiriwong, Governor of Roi Et Province, highly appreciated the role of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen in promoting local-level cooperation between the two countries and expressed his desire to establish a cooperation model with a Vietnamese locality.

Agreeing with the above proposal, Governor Chatchawan emphasized that economic cooperation among private-sector enterprises would play a pioneering role alongside local authorities. The province welcomes Vietnamese businesses and localities to explore opportunities for investment and cooperation in agriculture, trade, and tourism.
Following the meeting, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Bun Bang Fai Lai Sri Phum Rocket Festival in Suwannaphum District. This is a representative festival of the Isan region, carrying the meaningful wish for favorable weather and abundant harvests. The festival is held annually to preserve traditional cultural identity while contributing to tourism promotion and local economic development.
