(VNF) - The first Regional Consultation Meeting for ASEAN People’s Forum 2016 (APF 2016) was held from March 31st - April 1st 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand.

(VNF) - The first Regional Consultation Meeting for ASEAN People’s Forum 2016 (APF 2016) was held from March 31st - April 1st 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The meeting gathered nearly 100 delegates from international and regional organizations as well as non-governmental organizations of ASEAN countries.

Representatives of Vietnam National Coordinating Committee for APF also attended the meeting.

Participants focused on exchanging opinions about common issues of ASEAN, engagement strategies for CSOs, measures to enhancing engagement and participation of stakeholders including ASEAN people in the context of the ASEAN Community,…

The meeting also discussed preparation for APF 2016, scheduled for August 2nd – 4th, in Dili, Timor Leste under the theme of “Expanding the people’s solidarity for Just and Inclusive ASEAN Community”.

In preparation for the Forum, the second Regional Consultation Meeting will be organized from May 10th – 11th, 2016 in Laos./.
