Doctors from Cho Ray - Phnom Penh hospital coordinated with the Community Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia and the Khmer-Vietnamese Association in Cambodia to hold charity medical services for about 700 people of Vietnamese and Khmer origin in Kandal, Cambodia on April 2.

The activity was organized at two locations in Leuk Daek district (Kandal province) with a total cost of medicine worth about USD 5,000 sponsored by Cho Ray hospital - Phnom Penh. Those who came for medical examinations also received gifts (including rice and cash) from the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia.

Speaking at the charity medical examination and treatment session, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang stated that this was a meaningful community activity to celebrate the two countries' 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2022).

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang claimed the embassy's hope to provide medical care for the Vietnamese community. On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang wished Vietnamese and Khmer families in Cambodia good health, happiness, and success as the Chol Chnam Thmay festival is coming.

Launched in 2014, Cho Ray -Phnom Penh hospital has so far held many social activities to improve the quality of community health care. In previous years, the hospital regularly organized charity medical activities in Cambodia, averaging about four times per year, each time receiving from 250 to 300 visits.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the activity is finally brought back. According to a representative of Cho Ray -Phnom Penh hospital, with the support of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Khmer-Vietnamese Association in Cambodia, the hospital will continue to carry out charity activities and donate blood to show social responsibility and join hands to help people of Vietnamese origin have a healthier life.
