Gen Z Travels Far Just to Sleep: When Tourism and Green Tea Help Cool Down Life

When exhaustion hits its limit, Gen Z chooses to travel not to check in or chase clouds—but simply to sleep. These trips away from the city come with headphones, a few books, and chilled bottles of Zero Degree Green Tea. It’s no longer about exploring new places, but about “getting away to slow life down,” to breathe and rebalance in the mountains and fresh air.

Gen Z Travels Far Just to Sleep: When Tourism and Green Tea Help Cool Down Life
In the crisp chill of Da Lat, many young people choose to slow down, sip a cold bottle of Zero Degree Green Tea, and rediscover calm after days of stress.

Travel is no longer an escape, but a reset—a way to cool down life, where young people learn to listen to the wind in the leaves and let stress melt away with every sip of refreshing green tea.

A Rising Need to Unplug

This trend is growing: according to Wakefield Research, around 37% of young Vietnamese suffer from insomnia, and 73% experience stress due to sleep disorders. Gen Z, a generation raised under the pressure of success, finances, FOMO, and a breakneck pace of life, is calling for a full mental “shutdown.”

That’s why places like Da Lat, Pleiku, or Hoi An have become Gen Z’s new “healing zones”—where sleep takes priority, and peace is the true luxury. According to a local booking platform, nearly 70% of Vietnamese travelers today are searching for vacations simply to rest.

Da Lat: Where Gen Z Turns Off the 'Virtual Life App' and Switches on Deep Sleep

After months buried in stress, deadlines, and sleep deprivation, Ngoc Thao (28, an accountant in Ho Chi Minh City) headed to Da Lat—not to take scenic selfies or chase clouds, but to sleep.

“My friends and I rented a chill-view homestay, turned off our mobile data, and decided: these four days are just for eating and sleeping,” Thao laughs. “Before the trip, I was completely burned out—mentally spinning and totally drained.”

On her first morning, soft sunlight filtered through the window. Instead of a harsh alarm, it was birdsong that woke her. After a full night’s sleep, her face looked peaceful and recharged. She sat on the balcony, overlooking pine forests and the city drifting below, sipping a cold bottle of Zero Degree Green Tea, savoring its delicate natural taste.

The coolness of the tea and the EGCG antioxidant content felt like a breeze calming her nerves—refreshing her mind and melting away the stress. No picture-perfect posts needed. She returned home completely reformatted: relaxed and renewed.

“In the chilly highlands,” she says, “I realized that sometimes, resting is a form of bravery—daring to pause and cool down your life to begin again.”

Pleiku: Swapping Deadlines for Tea and Quiet

In the early morning of Pleiku, many young people sip on a cold bottle of Zero Degree Green Tea, letting the natural green tea flavor refresh their minds and bring back a sense of peace after stressful days.

Hoang Lam (27, a software developer in Ho Chi Minh City) spent two years working non-stop. He likens his job to a “machine squeezing out youth.” Feeling stuck and exhausted, he lost interest in everything.

Lam decided to spend on a trip to Pleiku, where there’s only early morning mist, highland winds, and the earthy scent of red basalt soil. He picked a homestay near Bien Ho Lake, quiet enough to hear the leaves fall.

He’s among the 61% of Gen Z Vietnamese who travel to relax, relieve stress, and reconnect with themselves.

“We young people are more stressed than ever. So traveling, unwinding, and drinking something like Zero Degree Green Tea is how I cool down and regain balance,” Lam shares.

Every morning, he’d ride around Lake T’Nưng, then sit on the wooden porch sipping his tea. The pure, rich green tea flavor with natural EGCG helped him feel noticeably lighter and calmer.

“Just sitting there in fresh air, taking a sip of tea—my body feels refreshed, and my mind clears like it’s been rebooted.”

Lam left Pleiku carrying nothing but peace. Surrounded by morning mist and the soothing taste of green tea, he learned to slow his breath. When the mind calms, life doesn’t feel so rushed.

Hoi An: Resetting Emotion with the Taste of Green Tea

In the golden afternoon light of Hoi An, many young people sit by the Hoai River, sipping a cold bottle of Zero Degree Green Tea to regain their balance and find a sense of peace flavored with green tea.

In the constant rush of Saigon life, Van Anh (27, international procurement team lead) was always in “go” mode. Some days, she finished work close to midnight—her mind still racing with messages, contracts, and numbers.

“I realized I was burning out,” she said. “I needed somewhere slow enough for me to breathe, cool down, and refresh my spirit.”

She chose Hoi An.

In late autumn, the ancient town welcomed her with soft golden sunlight and the still waters of the Hoai River. No jam-packed check-ins—just a small ritual: each evening, biking to the riverbank, sitting at a wooden café, watching lanterns float by, and sipping a cold Zero Degree Green Tea.

“That moment felt like an emotional reset,” she smiled. The pure green tea flavor washed away the pressure. Each sip of EGCG-rich tea helped her relax, unwind, and ease her mind.

Evenings in Hoi An drifted by slowly. Van Anh gradually found her balance again—a state she calls “peace that tastes like green tea”.

Cooling Down Life: Gen Z’s Art of Recharging

From misty Da Lat, to quiet Pleiku, to sun-drenched Hoi An, Gen Z’s travels aren’t about conquest anymore—they’re about recovery. About slowing down, shedding stress, and coming back to themselves. They’re seeking peace in deep breaths and restful sleep.

In a fast-paced world, “healing” is more than a buzzword—it’s a mindful choice. On social media, the hashtag #healing has surpassed 58 billion views, while #chualanh (Vietnamese for “healing”) has over 2 billion, revealing a growing desire for emotional restoration.

To Gen Z, cooling down life is an art form. Sometimes, all it takes is sitting in nature, letting go of mental clutter, and sipping a cold Zero Degree Green Tea rich in natural EGCG—to melt stress, soothe the soul, and reset inner balance.

In a world that never stops spinning, Gen Z is teaching us a simple lesson:

Sometimes, to go further, you just need to pause.
Sleep deeply. Breathe slowly.
And let the cool taste of green tea gently flow through your quietest moments.

Because “cooling down life” isn’t somewhere far away—it’s in the courage to pause, let go of pressure, and smile to yourself again.
