The event was considered as a gift for Vietnamese delegates and international friends working in Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and other countries.

It drew the participation of leaders of committees, central agencies, Hanoi City, representatives from embassies, international organizations and non-governmental organizations, foreign students in Vietnam and foreigners working in Hanoi.

Delivering the opening speech, Nguyen Lan Huong, President of HAUFO highlighted that 2020 is an important year for Vietnam with numerous significant activities, such as Vietnam’s 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship, Vietnam’s assumption of UNSC’s non-permanent membership for the 2020-2021 tenure, the 1010th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, etc.

She expressed her hope that the regular friendship activities held by the HAUFO will help enhance mutual understanding and tighten solidarity between the Vietnamese people and those of other countries.

On behalf of the diplomatic corps and international organizations in Vietnam, Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama highly appreciated HAUFO’s achievements over the past time, and also expressed the belief that HAUFO will continue serving as a bridge connecting international friends and Hanoians, in particular, and Vietnamese people, in general.

The program demonstrated the sentiments of the Vietnamese in general and Hanoians in particular for foreigners who are working and living in the capital city of Hanoi.

He sent to Vietnamese people wish for a new year filled with peace, prosperity, happiness and success. He believed that in 2020, the HAUFO would be further developed.

The performance were brought to audience by Vietnamese artists, members of Hanoi chapter of Friendship Associations and representatives of the embassies of the Russia, China, Laos, Thailand, Poland in Vietnam./.
